Dear Quilting Friends,

Winter is here and I have been curling up by the fire at nights with my quilting. What a treat. I have also been spending a bit of time working my way through the Elm Creek Novels by Jennifer Chiaverini. They are great novels about quilting stories and we have a good range in stock.

The sample for Libby Richardson’s new BOM “Lace & grace” is finished now and is a great wallhanging with cups etc in greens & Pinks.

She has also got a new pattern out of a childrens quilt with Teddies on it made from the “Little Lulu’s” range which we now have in stock. They are a nice country range of fabrics featuring spots,stripes & daisies.

I have a nice new range of kits made up in Flannels & Chenilles.

Lorraine Cocker will be here from Adelaide teaching in June. Both the quilts she is teaching features machine piecing and applique. Samples in store.

Come in and check out the new tea-towel and handkerchief panels.They are great for making a quick gift, just a hem all around and hey presto!!!!

RECIPE - TOMATO SOUP

Ingredients :-
12 medium tomatoes,4 cloves garlic,4 Tblesp. Brown sugar, 4 spring
Onions chopped,300gms tomato paste & 8 cups vegetable stock(chicken is fine as well)

Method:-
Roughly chop tomatoes,add chopped garlic, brown sugar, onions, tomato paste & stock.
Bring to boil and simmer for 20 mins.Blend & season with salt & pepper.
1 cup of small pasta can be cooked into soup after it has been blended.
It is also very nice with some chopped up cooked chicken in it as well. Great for using up the breast of a cooked chicken which no-one seems to want to eat.
